On June 15, the President announced that U.S. Customs and Border Protection will begin collecting a 25 percent duty pursuant to Sec. 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 on 818 products of Chinese origin worth roughly $34 billion from industries like aerospace, robotics and automobiles. These tariffs will go into effect on July 6, 2018. According to the United States Trade Representative, the list of covered products steers clear of commonly purchased goods like cellphones and televisions. See the list here.

The President also identified an additional 284 products worth roughly $16 billion that were not on its original list that was released in April. This list will undergo a public comment and review process, and tariffs, if approved, will not be in place for several weeks. See the proposed list here.
